What is SEM?

- SEM is Scanning Electron Microscope.

- A type of electron microscope that produces

images of a sample by scanning it with a focused beam of electrons. The electrons interact with atoms in the sample, producing various signals that can be detected and that contain information about the sample's surface topography and composition.

What is TEM?
- TEM is Transmission Electron Microscope.
- TEM is a microscopy technique whereby a beam of electron is transmitted through an ultra-thin specimen, interacting with the specimen as it passes through.
What is Sputter Coater?
- When a glow discharge is formed between a Cathode and Anode using a suitable gas (typically Argon), and Cathode target material (commonly Gold) the bombardment of the target with gas ions will erode this target material, this process being termed "Sputtering"

- Carbon Coater is one of the most advanced sample coaters available for coating non-conductive specimens prior to SEM X-ray analysis.
